Credit Union National Association (CUNA)

Credit Union National Association (CUNA), based in Washington, D.C., and Madison, Wisconsin, is a national trade association serving America's credit unions. The not-for-profit trade group is governed by volunteer directors who are elected by their credit union peers.

With its network of affiliated state credit union leagues, CUNA serves 90 percent of America's 7,200 state and federally chartered credit unions, which are owned by nearly 95 million consumer members. CUNA partners with state leagues and credit unions to comprehensively track and have a positive impact on laws affecting operations and members, engage credit unions politically at the grassroots level, facilitate discussion and provide credit union input to regulators and build knowledge for compliance staff. CUNA’s well-deserved reputation as one of Washington's premier advocacy organizations strengthens the delivery of the credit union message and the shape of public policy affecting credit unions. CUNA’s work ensures that credit unions get the recognition they deserve as consumers' best choice as their financial partner.
